Get ready, Central Illinois — the galaxy is coming to Peoria.
On Saturday, February 21, the Peoria Riverfront Museum will transform into a full-blown Star Wars celebration as the Yellow Bear Foundation hosts Hibernation Celebration: A Night in the Galaxy, a family-friendly evening packed with immersive experiences and plenty of intergalactic fun.
From the moment guests arrive, the museum will be buzzing with activity. Familiar characters will roam the floors for surprise encounters and photo ops, museum exhibits will be open to explore, and planetarium shows will bring the stars to life overhead. Costumes are encouraged, smiles are guaranteed, and cabin fever doesn’t stand a chance.
The highlight of the night? A giant-screen showing of Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi in the museum’s theater — a chance to experience one of the most beloved films in the saga the way it was meant to be seen. Standard tickets include the movie screening along with full museum and planetarium access, plus a popcorn and drink. Guests can also choose a museum-and-planetarium–only ticket if they’d rather skip the movie and just enjoy the festivities.
The evening begins at 5:00 PM and the movie begins at 6:30 PM, making it a perfect winter night out for families, Star Wars fans, and anyone looking for something fun to do indoors. Best of all, the event supports the Yellow Bear Foundation and its mission to raise awareness and support for individuals and families living with primary immunodeficiency.
Whether you come for the characters, the planetarium, the movie, or just the magic of it all, A Night in the Galaxy is shaping up to be one of Peoria’s most memorable winter events.
Tickets are limited, and this one is expected to fill quickly.
